TRAINING OBJECTIVES
The purpose of the course is the development of skills in the context of a more effective protection of the health of the patient and his healthcare relationship with the dentist and the dental hygienist. Through the in-depth study of the ethical obligations, the medico-legal recommendations and the regulatory requirements governing the aforementioned relationship, new skills will be developed for the management of the dental clinic, a patient complaint, conciliation and judicial proceedings. Health professionals enrolled will achieve some EC upon passing the final evaluation

COURSE OUTLINE
Dentists and dental hygienists must respect - like any healthcare professional - rules and conduct that require adequate knowledge of the legal and medico-legal aspects with regard to civil, criminal and ethical liability. The course aims to update the professional on the duties and obligations of a regulatory nature that affect non-clinical aspects of a dental clinic, also in the light of a continuous jurisprudential evolution of the profession. The course also lays the foundation for a more correct interpretation and management of a complaint, with the aim of preventing and managing the relationship between healthcare professionals and patients, offering crisis management tools up to judicial evolution.
The following topics will be covered. In module I: Guidelines and good clinical-care practices in dentistry; criminal liability; professional responsibility (owner, medical director, consultants); Informed consent, Privacy and Professional secrecy; Deontological conduct and disciplinary sanctions of the professional order; Infectious risk prevention and management in the dental office; Judicial procedures with role playing. In module II: Risk management in oral hygiene and periodontology; Risk management in conservative/endodontics; Risk management in implantology and oral surgery; Risk management in orthodontics; Safety at work and employees; Mediation and conciliation; The insurance policies of the dental facility; Effective communication and marketing of the dental practice.
LENGTH OF THE COURSE
HOURS: 50 hours in total divided into 38 hours of frontal teaching, 2 of alternative teaching, 10 hours of individual study. The course will be delivered online in Italian.
