Research activities
The group of researchers, currently the only one for Nursing Sciences in the University of Torino, in recent years, while covering many aspects of clinical and training research fields, has developed some priority areas:
- The patient with dementia: epidemiology, end-of-life decisions, palliative care and communication with patient and family members.
- Self care in people with chronic conditions, in particular COPD and spinal cord injuries
- Side effects of cancer treatments
- Epidemiological analysis on administrative databases on home care, residential care and emergency department visits
- Community care: models and outcomes evaluation
- Missed nursing care in nursing homes
- Arts therapies for the development of relational skills in nursing students
- Work-related problems of healthcare workers
- Vaccination hesitancy of healthcare workers
- Spiritual care in hospital
Ongoing collaborations: Within the department with the group on Health Education/Community Empowerment. Externally with the Piedmont Region and Agenas (National Agency for regional health services) on the development of home care and family and community nursing.
